“Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.”

-Albert Schweitzer

The Kelly Larson Fund for Nature is a private family fund administered by the Minneapolis Foundation

We focus on protection and restoration of native landscapes and the wellbeing of wild and domestic animals

Kelly Larson

Profoundly decent and compassionate, an unwavering champion of the underdog, a photographer and writer, lover of all animals, the north woods, prairies, the Pacific Coast and water -frozen, liquid, fresh or salty.

Kelly acted on her principles and taught us what it means to live with grace and dignity.

Kelly died of an accidental fentanyl overdose in February, 2024.

Now gone, her legacy of caring for animals and nature will continue.

“The world is interwoven - nature and people are one.”

-Kelly Larson

“The body may be different, but for all living creatures the soul is the same.”
